Bluejacking Intro

Bluejacking is not mobile hacking or hijacking its totaly different. Bluejacking is a harmless prank played on people who have switched Bluetooth on their phones.

Blue       : is taken from Bluetooth, the technology bluejacking uses.
jacking is derived from both "ajack" and "hijacking"

Even thought bluejacking does not resemble hijacking There is no accessing or taking private data from your victim's device.

Bluejacking is totally limited to Bluetooth enabled devices.Bluetooth has a very limited range, usually around 10 metres on mobile phones, but laptops and other instrument with high power transmitters can reach up to 100 meters.

Bluejacking Explanation

Bluejacking is define as sending of unsolicited messages over Bluetooth to Bluetooth-enabled devices such as mobile phones, PDAs, Laptops, sending a contact which typically contains a message in the name field to another bluetooth enabled device via the OBEX protocol.

Few prople say the term “Bluejacking” originated with a user named ajack on esato.com. Some people say that the term bluejacking comes from Bluetooth and hijacking. While that certainly sounds logical, a bluejacker doesn't hijack anything, he just send a contact to the recipient's device. Both parties have absolute control over their devices, and a bluejacker will not be able to take control of your phone or steal your personal information.

You can create a phonebook contact and write a message, eg. 'Hello, you've been bluejacked', in the 'Name' field. Then you can search for other phones with Bluetooth and send that phonebook contact to them. On their phone, a message will popup saying "'Hello, you've been bluejacked' has just been received by Bluetooth" or something along those lines. For most 'victims' they will have no idea as to how the message appeared on their phone. So, personalised messages like 'I like your pink top' and the startled expressions that result is where the fun really starts.

Bluejacking is quite harmless, but because bluejacked people don't know what is happening, they think their phone is malfunctioning. Usually, a bluejacker will only send a text message, but with modern phones it's possible to send images or sounds as well.

But with the increase in the availability of bluetooth enabled devices, these devices have become vulnarable to virus attacks and even complete take over of devices through a trojan horse program.

Bluejacking Process

  • Go to Contacts.
  • Create a new contact.
  • Write the short message you want to send on the line next to 'Last name'
  • Save this contact.
  • Select this contact and send via Bluetooth.
  • Your phone will search for devices
  • All the Bluetooth devices near you will be displayed.
  • Select any one you like and send.
  • You have bluejacked someone.

You can also send pictures to your victim by adding them to your bluejack contact. The best thing about this is even if the victim rejects the contact that you sent him/her, the picture gets automatically saved in the victim's My Pictures section.

Advantages of having a Bluetooth Wireless Headset

In today’s busy world everyone tries to fit 24 hours of life into an 8 hour day, we are so busy with kids, jobs, spouses, deadlines and commitments. In this busy world we answer the Question, What are the advantages of having a Bluetooth wireless headset?

So, what are the advantages of having a Bluetooth wireless headsetyou ask?
  • Well the First and best advantage of a Bluetooth wireless Headsetis that both of your hands are free to be of use to you at all times. Have you ever seen a person with a broken arm or no arm at all? Why limit yourself to only having one hand free as you go about your business? Think about this because this is exactly what you are doing when you talk on your cell phone without a Bluetooth wireless headset.
  • The second advantage of having a Bluetooth wireless headset is when you do any activity your focus is more on that activity than keeping your phone glued to your ear.
  • Another advantage of a Bluetooth wireless headset which is my favorite is that when you are making business (or personal) calls you are free to roam around the house or office to be more productive, if your are calling somewhere that puts you on hold (for the next available agent) without a Bluetooth you tend to sit around waiting for a extended period of time, being unproductive, but try this with a Bluetooth wireless headset. When I am at home trying to take of business I don’t just sit around on hold, now I will do whatever I can, the trash, clean, laundry, unload the dishwasher or anything else that needs to be done while I am on hold. This makes me extremely more productive in life and I never have much time so I am grateful when I can save a little, you should try this too.
  • The fourth advantage I can think of in owning a Bluetooth wireless headset is I seem to be more apt to call my family (sometimes I don’t know if this is good or bad) but overall this is a good thing my parents are getting older and I need to check in with them more often. I can usually accomplish this while still going about my daily business.
  • Another use for a Bluetooth wireless headset is, while driving it keeps your hands on the wheel and not plastered to your ear, personally I DO NOT recommend this except in emergencies, but I know many people are going to do this so at least it is safer than having one hand on the wheel, this is where my wife makes all of her phone calls on the way to work. But please remember driving is difficult enough without any distractions so the more things you try to do the more dangerous it becomes.
  • In this day and age of the internet and other outlets it is easier than ever to own a Bluetooth wireless hands free headset it does not matter which area of the country you live in urban or rural buying a Bluetooth is just a click away, many websites offer free shipping or discounts one site like this is my own www.BluetoothsRus.com we offer free shipping for orders over $49 and a discount for those who try to save a little more, ours is “UPS” which you enter in the checkout page of the site in the preferred customer code area, this will save you 10% off your entire order.
  • Another advantage of a Bluetooth wireless headset is not getting an expensive ticket, many states have current or pending laws regarding use of cellular devices while driving, if it’s illegal you will get an expensive ticket. Many states allow for hands free devices like Bluetooths. Bluetooths wireless headsets come in many styles and colors; also Bluetooths that clip on your cars visor or lay on a table are available for those who do not like to wear earpieces.
  • One last advantage to buying a Bluetooth wireless headset it they make Great Gifts, so if you need a gift that people will remember a Bluetooth is truly a great one. You can get most bluetooths for under $100 and many under $50. A gift like this is sure to be remembered for a long time and its so easy some web-sites offer gift wrapping (for a Fee) but the gift goes directly to the person and no hassles for you, so just sit back and take the credit,” What a country”.
In closing I hope I have answered the question: What are the advantages of owning a bluetooth wireless headset? Have a great day, and if you have any other questions on this topic feel free to e-mail me at the address on my website. Remember technology is a great thing and can save you a lot of time if used wisely so take advantage of any product that can make your quality of life better; this is why I do recommend a Bluetooth wireless headset.

webcam basics

Instead of just communicating over the internet with text and emoticons, people are beginning to realize just how easy and fun it is to send video clips through cyberspace.Webcam setups range from simple to complex, and increasing the complexity is only a matter of adding functionality through software, custom code and/or equipment connections.A simple Webcam setup consists of a Digital Camera attached to your computer, usually through the USB port. The camera part of the Webcam setup is just a digital camera -- nothing out of the ordinary so far. The "Webcam" functions of the camera originate from the software. Webcam software takes a frame from the digital camera at a preset interval (for example, the software might grab a still image from the camera once every 30 seconds) and transfers it to another location for viewing. If you're interested in using your Webcam for streaming video, you'll want a Webcam system with a high frame rate. The frame rate indicates the number of pictures the software can grab and transfer in one second. For streaming video, you need a minimum rate of at least 15 frames per second (fps), and 30 fps is optimal. To achieve high frame rates, you must necessarily have a high-speed internet connection. Once it captures a frame, the software broadcasts the image over your Internet connection. There are several broadcast methods. Using the most common method, the software turns that image into a JPEG (compressed) file and uploads it to a web server using File Transfer Protocol (FTP). You can easily place a JPEG image onto any web page in this manner and post your webcam images on the internet. If you don't have your own Web server or web site, you can also use your web cam to send a video email. First, launch the software that comes with the camera. Depending on the model, the process of e-mailing and recording your video messages may vary. Press Start or Record to begin the video message. Click Stop and then preview the video. You can then click E-mail or Send, which automatically opens your default e-mail program. When sending a video e-mail, the longer the video message recorded, the bigger the attachment will be, so make sure the recipient's computer can handle the size. The recipient of the e-mail does not need special software to see your video message; they simply choose to open the attachment and the mini movie will play.Another increasingly popular way to use your web cam is a chat session with webcams in "real time" with instant messaging (IM) programs. During an IM chat, there will be an option to start the webcam right on the screen, or under the Options or Tools menu. In Windows Messenger, for example, the words Start Camera are on the right-hand side of the screen. It is also possible to adjust the volume, window size, and video resolution with IM options. The person on the other end also needs a webcam to visually chat.Adjust your camera's focus, point it toward your face, and most importantly, look right into the "eye" of the webcam so your friends on the other end see more than just your forehead. Keep in mind that some webcams require an additional microphone to record audio.Don't expect terrific video quality. It's often possible to adjust the video resolution by toying with the webcam's software settings, but the higher the quality, the choppier the video frame rates will be. Webcams can also be used for remote security monitoring, but beware of hackers who could intercept your video feed and then spy on YOU. Make full use of passwords and encryption.

3G speed Worldwide
3G technology gives iPhone fast access to the Internet and email over cellular networks around the world. iPhone 3G also makes it possible to do more in more places: Surf the web, download email, get directions, and watch video — even while you’re on a call.

Multi Touch
With its large Multi-Touch display and innovative software, iPhone lets you control everything using only your fingers. Type using the predictive keyboard, glide through albums with Cover Flow, scroll through photos with a flick, or zoom in and out on a section of a web page — all courtesy of Multi-Touch.

How it works.
The Multi-Touch display layers a protective shield over a capacitive panel that senses your touch using electrical fields. It then transmits that information to the LCD screen below it. And the iPhone software enables the flick, tap, and pinch.

GPS
GPS technology and iPhone software come together to create a new dimension in mobile phone mapping. Get a fast fix on your location. Track your progress as you go. Use applications that take advantage of GPS navigation features. All from iPhone 3G.

How it works.
GPS (Global Positioning System) technology uses information from earth-orbiting satellites to find locations. A receiver estimates the distance to GPS satellites based on the time it takes for signals to reach it, then uses that information to identify its location. But the A-GPS (Assisted GPS) solution on iPhone 3G goes a step further, using a unique approach to find the closest satellites and more quickly identify your position. That gives you a faster fix on your location than with regular GPS.

Get the signal.
In addition to A-GPS, iPhone 3G uses signals from GPS satellites, Wi-Fi hot spots, and cellular towers to get the most accurate location fast. If GPS is available, iPhone displays a blue GPS indicator. But if you’re inside — without a clear line of sight to a GPS satellite — iPhone finds you via Wi-Fi. If you’re not in range of a Wi-Fi hot spot, iPhone finds you using cellular towers. And the size of a location circle tells you how accurately iPhone is able to calculate that location: The smaller the circle, the more accurate the location.

Stay on track.
Maps on iPhone 3G use GPS to help you get from point A to point B. Find a location, get directions, and, if you like, follow your progress along a highlighted route with live GPS tracking. Learn more

Get apps that map.
iPhone 3G provides GPS-powered location feeds to built-in applications as well as to applications available on the App Store. Take a photo with the camera, for example, and iPhone can geotag it with GPS location information. That way, when you share photos online, friends and family can see where every snapshot was taken. And you can shop the App Store for GPS-enabled applications such as mobile friend finders or interactive city guides.

Save power.
GPS on iPhone is active only when you need it. iPhone powers the GPS unit on and off quickly and automatically, so it won’t adversely affect battery life.

Accelerometer
iPhone responds to motion using a built-in accelerometer. When you rotate iPhone from portrait to landscape, the accelerometer detects the movement and changes the display accordingly. So you immediately see the entire width of a web page, view a photo in its proper aspect ratio, or control a game using only your movements.

How it works.
The accelerometer inside iPhone uses three elements: a silicon mass, a set of silicon springs, and an electrical current. The silicon springs measure the position of the silicon mass using the electrical current. Rotating iPhone causes a fluctuation in the electrical current passing through the silicon springs. The accelerometer registers these fluctuations and tells iPhone to adjust the display accordingly.

Sensors

Built into iPhone are two small but intelligent sensors that pick up cues from the environment and adjust the screen accordingly. These sensors both work to maximize the battery life and improve your iPhone experience.

Ambient light sensor.
The ambient light sensor in iPhone automatically brightens the display when you’re in sunlight or a bright room and dims it in darker places.

Proximity sensor.
When you lift iPhone to your ear, the proximity sensor immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent inadvertent touches.

Tips to increase the Digital Camera Battery life

* Turn off the LCD. The LCD uses up a lot of your camera's battery life, so it's better to keep it turned off and use the camera's viewfinder instead.
* Plan your shots before turning on the camera. Turning the camera on and off after every shot will use up more battery power than turning the camera on, taking a few shots and then turning it off.
* Try using higher exposure settings over flash when your battery seems to be dying out. Flash requires lot of battery power.
* Most people have a tendency to keep seeing the clicked images. It is best to avoid playback of the pictures and videos you just clicked. This will help in conserving the battery life.
These tips will easily get you a few more shots out of your digital camera with the same old batteries. Though, the best thing to do to avoid situations where you are stranded with dying batteries is to carry an extra battery pack for your camera.

Useful mobile tips..

Secret Battery Power

Imagine your cell battery is very low, you are expecting an important call, and you don't have a charger. Nokia phones come with a reserve battery. To activate it, press the keys *3370#. Your cell will restart with this reserve, and show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

Boot Your Signal

If you have problems with cell reception while you're in your car, you might be able to use a car kit to boost your phone's power. These kits usually require professional installation. They increase the maximum power of your phone's signal and route it to an external antenna on your car's windshield or roof. They also usually include a cradle that you dock your phone in when it's the car and a hands-free speaker and microphone.

Locked Your Keys in the Car ?

If your car has a remote lock/unlock device (and you have a second one, say at home - aside from the one on your keychain that's locked inside the car) you can call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone, hold your phone about a foot from your car door, and have the person at home press the unlock button on the device, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other remote for your car, you can unlock the doors.

flash in a camera phone

If your camera phone doesn’t come with a flash but does include a Night mode, photos in the dark is still a possibility. When taking a nighttime picture, first select Night mode from the camera menu. It can live in a variety of places depending on your phone model, but it's often included under the menu heading of "lighting conditions." After selecting the option you can start shooting away. It won't exactly equal a flash, but it can be a good substitute.

Flashing Samsung D500 New Firmware

I. Introduction

First of all, I'll start with a warning:
FLASHING THE D500 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND IS COMPLETELY AT OWN RISK!
Beneath are the things you need to flash the Samsung D500:

  • A Samsung D500 Flash cable (not the Data cable!)
  • A 9 Volt Battery for the Flash cable
  • The Corona-Downloader > available in misc-section

II. Backup Guide

First thing you need to do is make a backup of your own firmware, so that in case the flashing of the new firmware fails, you can still flash your old firmware back. Now let's get started.

  • Connect the flash cable at a COM-Port on the back of your computer.
(Check your settings of the COM-Port at the Hardware Settings, the Baud-setting must be at 115200)
  • Conect a 9 Volt Battery on the Flash Cable.
  • Remove your Sim-Card from the phone and put the battery back.
Please note: The battery must be completely loaded before the flashing process!

  • Start the Corona-Downloader, choose the COM-Port (1) where you have mounted the flash cable on and select 115200 at Serial-Port (2).
  • Click on START (3) in Corona-Downloader. "POWER ON the PHONE" should come up in the window. Now push the Power-Button on your Phone, and start up your phone like you normally do it. Now something should be happening in the window of Corona-Downloader as it's searching the settings of the phone. This takes about 30 seconds.
  • Push Explorer at NAND Flash Operation (4). A new Window comes up. Here, you choose NAND Full Dump. Another window comes up. Choose a place on your hard disk where you would like the Backup to be saved, and then choose a name for the file. Click save and the backup should now begin. It takes up to 2,5 Hours and the Backup-File will be around 130 MB.

III. Flashing Guide

For the flashing process it's almost the same as the backup guide so this'll be easy

  • Connect the flash cable at a COM-Port on the back of your computer.
(Check your settings of the COM-Port at the Hardware Settings, the Baud-setting must be at 115200)
  • Connect a 9 Volt Battery on the Flash Cable.

  • Select BIN+TFS (4) at Corona-Downloader. Now search for the BIN (5) and TFS (6) on your hard disk. Once you're ready to start flashing, click on Download (7). The Flashing now begins. Flashing the BIN takes normally 35 Min. and the TFS takes 53 Min., that means 1,5 Hours in total. Once finished, a "Download Complete" message appears on your screen .

After you have flashed the phone you can remove the flash cable. Then insert the SIM-Card and start your phone for testing.
Once you started your phone, you can use the code *#1234# to check if the new firmware is correctly installed.

Photos, Ringtones, pictures, videos and mp3"s remain on the phone and the IMEI also remains the same.

Good Luck.

THE NOKIA PHONE-LOCK RESET

What is a Phone Lock?

Nokia's webpage:
"The Phone Lock prevents your phone data from being accessed if Your phone is stolen.
"The lock code is a number that prevents unauthorized persons from Using your phone. These control codes are for your protection."

What is THE-NOKIA-UNLOCK:

The program exploits a design flaw in the nokia mobile phones to remove The Phone Lock protection. The program was tested on Nokia 6630 and Nokia 6680. The program
Should work on any other Symbian based mobile phones (including Sony Ericson and all modern nokia phones and many others). This tool does not remove the sim-lock.

How to use:
You need two mobile phones.

1) Do _not_ turn off the mobile phone!
2) Remove the Memory Card (MMC) from the locked phone and put it into a second mobile. Install FExplorer on the second mobile phone. Create the directory E:\System\Recogs and copy the-nokia-unlock.mdl into this directory.
3) Remove the Memory Card and place it into the locked phone. The THE-NOKIA-UNLOCK program should start after 120 seconds.
4) Remove the battery. Remove the MMC. Put the battery back and restart. The Phone Lock has been reset to "12345".

Why does this work?

The Phone Lock disables the key pad, Bluetooth and the USB port. This makes it impossible to access the data stored on the device without knowing the correct code. Nevertheless the MMC is not disabled. Nokia's OS has a lot of undocumented features. One of them are 'recognizer' that can be used to execute a program when the phone boots. A recognizer is loaded and executed when a drive is mounted. The MMC is mounted when it is placed into the mobile phone _even_ when the phone is locked.

THE-NOKIA-UNLOCK is a recognizer that implementes yet another undocumented feature to perform a hard reset (by software) on the phone.

Note: The same recognizer-autostart method can be used to quickly install a backdoor on a locked mobile phone or to propagate a virus: Get in, Get Out, Get Away.
