Full phone format on a 6600

If any of the problems listed below is happening to your phone:
A. Blank screen phone unable to boot-up.
B. Phone is only able to boot-up to "Nokia" screen (may flash "Nokia" 4 times also).
C. Install a program but unable to uninstall it.
D. Unable to delete certain files on C drive

If you have any files that are important to you, make backups.


1. Make sure you phone is fully charged.

2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card (if possible).

3. Switch-off your 6600 phone.

4. Press and hold these three keys together

-Green dial key,
-Star key (*)
-Three key (3)

then press the power on/off to swtich on the 6600 phone.

DO NOT let go the three keys until you see the "formatting" screen displayed

5. After a few minutes, the format will be complete. Your 6600 will now be at its original factory settings.

NOTE: I have been told that doing this "hard" or "low-level" format has the "possibility" to remove any specific operator customizations....ie: Orange, Vodaphone etc.

How To Unlock And Hack Memory Card When You Forget Your Memory Card Password

Some times it happens that you forgot the password of your memory card and you have lots of your important data in your phone.

So there are two types of methods for recovering the password of your memory card with the help of nokia phone.


For Nokia s60 1st and 2nd edition phones.

1. First Install FExplorer in your phone memory.

2. Got to drive C: , you will find a file called mmcstore

3. Send it to your pc directly and open it in notepad or rename the file.

4. At the end of the file you will find your password.

For Nokia S60 3rd Phones, Nokia N-Series and Nokia E-Series

There is almost no way yet known to hack the memory card password in case of these types of phone but there is a way to do it some of the s60 3rd edition phones and almost all the E-series phones.

The remote lock option in E-Series phone allws you to unlock your phone by sending a sms.

The only thing you have to do is to activate this feature by going to Tools | Settings | Security | Phone and SIM | Allow remote lock menu. The password of your memory card will be your remote lock message.

So you have to just send a sms containing your remote lock message that will automatically change your memory card passsword.

monophonic ringtones,
polyphonic ringtones and
music ringtones.

Monophonic cell phone ringtones are very simple and are compatible with most of the mobile phones in use.
It comprises of a series of sequential tones at varying frequencies.

Polyphonic ringtones can be played on mobile phones which are capable of playing 16 tones simultaneously.
The combination of these tones creates a harmonic melody. Polyphonic ringtones are more musical and carry better presence
than a monophonic ringtone.

Music ringtones are often referred to as voice tones, realtones or true tones.

First it is good if you have knowledge about connection cable. Sometimes it is provided with you mobile phones when you buy them and some time you have to buy them. It acts as a bridge between you mobile and your PC and transfer electrical signals from your mobile to your PC and PC to mobile.
This cable may connect at serial port at back of your PC or this cable may connect at USB port. Do as it is provided. Connect on end of cable to your mobile and other end with your PC.
Open / run you mobile PC software to start communicating with your mobile and start sending ringtones* games* themes e.t.c.

* 'send command' fails new firmware
with some new firmware, some users have reported that the 'send command' (thru bluetooth, IR, ...) fails; it's due to a 'copyrigth protection' introduced in the new OS (!!!!), this happens only with some kind of files (eg: .SIS), in such case, simply rename the file (eg: wtih .SIS_ ) before trying to send them.

Rough treatment can damage electronic circuit boards so avoid dropping or unnecessarily shaking your phone.
4. Battery: Be safe with your batteries. Use only genuine batteries from your phone manufacturer and only buy from authorized dealers. Going for the cheap option of a counterfeit battery can be dangerous.
5. Clean: Don't use harsh detergents, cleaning solvents or harsh chemicals to clean your phone. Wipe only with a soft cloth.
6. Covered: a protective cover will help repel dust and dirt, and prevent scratches. Make sure the cover you choose is of good quality. Low quality covers with no air pockets can damage you phone by creating humidity inside the cover.
7. Storing your phone: Always store your phone in a dry place. Avoid rain, high humidity and liquids. All of these may contain minerals that could corrode the electronic circuits.
8. At the right temperature: To ensure a long life, keep your phone in a stable temperature. Avoid exposing your phone to liquid and/or exposing your phone to extreme temperature change from hot to cold and vice versa. This might create condensation and damage the phone.
